Birth & Burial: When Love Walked the Earth

Graduate Final Collection (Savannah College of Art & Design) | 2025 (in progress)

An homage to the incarnation of Christ -- Birth & Burial uncovers the timeless truth of human decay. But death is not the end. This concept delves into the secular and Biblical symbolisms associated to birth (womb) and death (coffin/grave). The collection explores soil-dyed fabrics, floral appliques, resin work, and bead work. Softer shapes and lighter tints are juxtaposed with harsher silhouettes and darker shades.

A Cover Story: Form, Fabric, Flight & Fall

Graduate Project Capsule Collection (Savannah College of Art & Design) | 2024

From the minute we are born to the moment we depart from earth, the human form is embraced, covered by a piece of manipulated fabric -- this is our cover story. Swaddling cloths, veils, a second covering that goes over our primary covering, our skins. This collection explores the Flight and Fall method to create draped designs that embrace the human form, involving prints of enlarged human skin cells under the microscope.

Impermanence: Time Runners

Graduate Project Digital Collection (Savannah College of Art & Design) | 2024

"More" is what humans tirelessly dedicate their whole lives to -- more time, more stature, more beauty. We erect statues and tall buildings to solidify legacies. We look for traces of life in outer space. We strive to delay decay. The effort to preserve, to delay the effect of time wearing on us, is at the our heart of our belief in impermanence. We are, all of us, time runners. This digital collection explores space suits, party dresses, and emblems like the Empire State to create fun, futuristic, modern ensembles.

I Am.

Undergraduate Final Collection (University of the Philippines Diliman) | 2020

This collection narrates the meta-narrative of the Christian Bible -- the story of God and man. It paints the picture of man’s clothing as his confession to his distorted nakedness, and flawed self, and God’s plan of rescue and restoration of man to to glory -- to Himself. Leaf appliqués, rhinestones, and hand paint and airbrushed scenes sprawl across modern, romantic ball gowns.
